Chateau Féodal de Mondoubleau

It is said that this chateau did not not start to lean until the XIXth century after years of its stones being plundered and it generally being abused as a quarry, a chateau dates here from the IXth century when a tower constructed only of wood would have been sat here.

Originally the surface area covered over 2 hectares, around the year 1000, Hugues Doubleau, working for the Comtes de Blois built a strong fort with a tower standing over 30 metres in height, built of stone seen quiet frequently in the région of Mondoubleau. The chateau fort is abandoned at the beginning of the XVth century.
