Chateau du Monteil

In the XIIIth century there was already a chateau in Monteil in fact text prove this land was used in the XIth century when it becomes successively property of the Arpajon family, in 1767, the last lord of the manor is the mayor of Aubusson, it will then be sold by adjudication in 1794 after the revolutiion, after going through many hands, it is finally sold in 1857 to Denys de Gedoyn who promises to repair the castle. but it seems instead the castle would be used by the local inhabitants as a quarry and the castles days were finally numbered

According to one document of the XVIIIth century, the castle was composed of a rectangular main building framed of two round towers. The main building was divided by a cross wall into two apartments.
