The Donjon dates back to the XIIth century and the Chateau Comtal des Comtes de Comminges dates to the XIVth both presumed built for their strategic positions at the top of the hill although only the keep and the surrounding fortified walls now survive. A little downwards are the ruins of the chapelle dating from the XIIth century with the Counts of Comminges donating large amounts to the order. The Templiers also had a house Salies du salat, which has been made famous since roman times for it baths and its salted fountain.*
